"In recent years, I've been searching for a certain scent — one that blends traditional Chinese elegance with contemporary vitality, a "genderless parfum".
I imagined it might be aromatic, like dried ginger; or perhaps calamus, pine powder not out of the question. At the very least, it couldn't be "citrus"—bright and joyful, a material brimming with power. Yet in Han philosophy, it's never individualism, never an infinitely magnified self. Instead, it's like those tiny characters in traditional Chinese paintings, subtly integrated into vast mountains and rivers.
This led me to think of moss: a scent so faint it's almost absent, clustered together and silently growing. If we classify citrus's vibrant, sunlit energy as "qian" (the active force) in the olfactory aesthetic spectrum, then moss unmistakably embodies "kun" (the receptive force).
With this in mind, my idea is clear. Introducing carbonated effervescence molecules played a key role in achieving balance, inspired by sound artist Charles Rose's recording of post-rain moss—where water seeps in, producing delicate, gentle pops of bursting bubbles. It's not a literal scent, just an experimental trial to blended senses in this creation. It might turn out intriguing."
